New Night: Improv Comedy

For the shamrock holiday we watched Thrillionares at the new Covey Art Center in Provo. And yes, we all wore green. The show was entertaining. The first half was Shakespearian. The second half was musical improv with actors breaking into song. It had an Irish flare, with jigs and potatoes. I would recommend Thrillionares if you're ever in town. It's different every week and its participants are clever.

Silver Award!

My opening spread for an article in the Tahitian Noni magazine Tradewinds won a silver at the ADDYs —Advertising Competition—last week! Woohoo. (I've been the creative lead for over a year on this magazine, it's going great.)
I believe the competition was just for the Mountain West region. This piece now qualifies to compete in the next round which includes a larger region.
So a big thanks to Murray Kimber, the illustrator, and to Kelly Nield for his art direction. Way to go team.

Dancing the Night Away . . .

Yesterday we went to see Laurel, Adam's sister, compete in the Paso Doble. She is doing so well and getting good very quickly. Here are some shots. (We got video too . . . I'll see if we can figure out how to post it.) Yay Laurel!

Later that same evening we went back to watch the United States Amateur DanceSport championships. Quite the big deal actually. Couples and judges come from all over the United States to participate. There are all kinds of dances and costumes, team dances, cabaret, and four teams of professionals dancers as well. We watched from 5:00p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Laurel, Teju, and Adriene joined us. We had a good time and were all convinced we should make dancing our new hobby.

Adam and I have been participating in a Biggest Looser challenge and Adam, I must say, is doing very well. He hit 10lbs lost last week! Still more to go but 10 lbs is a feat! Way to go Adam.
