I got in a fight . . .

. . . last night. With a corkscrew. And lost.
I know, funny mental picture right?

Doc says I scratched my cornea; so he put goopy medicine in my eye and I wore an eyepatch to bed. All is well, I just have to wait for it to heal.

Adam's 28th Birthday!

Awe, just look at him, my handsome Adam. He turned 28 yesterday! He thinks he's getting old but I think he's got it good. Late twenties—in my mind—are awesome. Not too young, not too old.

So let's get to know Adam a little bit better:
-His ringtone: Sweet Home Alabama
-Wrestled in High School (has the ear to prove it) went to state and got 4th place.
-Likes to umpire high school and college softball
-Loves fitted shirts, cuff-links, Italian shoes, and a well made tie. (Consequently, he has always liked dressing up, as you can see below.)
How did we celebrate? Just us two. Fine dining at Red Robbin, a movie, and what Adam vaguely described as a brownie cake. But did he have a recipe in mind? No. So we experimented with a recipe online. It turned out delicious, but quite, quite rich. And then he opened presents!

(Below: the Happy Birthday song.)

Thank you everybody for your phone calls, emails, and gifts. Adam went to bed that night saying he had a good day.

New Church Callings (Responsibilities)

Remember how we were Webelo leaders? Yeah. Not any more, our boys grew up *sniffle* and moved on. I regret not posting about our activities—we had a blast. When you hear one of your scouts shouting at the top of his lungs "This is the best Weblos activity EVER!"—you know the boys had a good time too.

But that's over.

Below Left: The Cubmaster patch, which I will be sewing onto Adam's shirt as soon as I'm done picking the other one off . . . . *sigh*
Below Right: The Medallion my girls will be working to receive upon their 14th birthday, Young Woman of Truth.

Adam is the new Cubmaster (over ALL the scouts under 12). Wow. Yep. You should see the junk we inherited. Flags, paperwork, a bin full of who knows what. . . .and a new patch to go on his shirt.

And I am the 2nd counselor in the Young Women's Presidency (Girls ages 12-18) which puts me over the Beehives (ages 12-14). Tonight was my first activity and I am seriously out of the loop. . . . what do twelve and thirteen year old girls like to do? I can barely remember.

So here we go!
