Michael and Hayden's wedding was fantastic and wonderful. I do not think there are many celebrations happier than a wedding. Below are several details I captured...whilst creeping around, avoiding TWO professional photographers and one videographer. NOT an easy task. (Mom, there are a lot of pics here. It might be faster to view with Dad's connection.)
Below: In front of the wedding quilt Mom made, this is at the open house. Hayden chose the fabrics.
Below: Announcements with a long format and space at the top for Haden's motif—swirls. A silver/blue band held all the pieces together in a silver printed envelope. There were a lot more pieces to this, they'll be on the website soon.
Lovely, happy Hayden in her diamond white dress and hair piece. She sent me the jewel which we incorporated into the flower.

No amount of slinking got me any good photos of the bridesmaids...but you get the idea. The groomsmen were even harder to capture. I'm pretty sure Hayden will be sharing links to "real" photos though!
Hayden and Michael dipped and rolled these vases in paint and glitter. In case you didn't notice...Hayden likes sparkly, glittery, shiny things. I've had her wedding on the mind so much there might be sparkles and glitter in my house somewhere shortly....
Complete with swirls, a pearlescent finish, and a metallic inside this guest book turned out perfectly. To finish it off I surprised the couple with a custom front page which reads: Guest Book, Michael and Hayden, From this moment on. Many guests wrote notes or words of encouragement and advice. Gifts and their givers were noted in the back—it's a great way to use a guest book!

Knowing there would be extra bands from the announcements, we planned on using them as napkin rings. Some had names, and some had swirls. Below right, a little ornament hangs from the silver sign-in tree.
Zuki was the cutest flower girl ever. Walking down the isle she was very shy—which was double adorable—but she did everything she was asked, no problem. I can only imagine what a little girl this age must be thinking about during an event like this.
Hayden's Mom and Dad Lori and Todd. Did you know they came to my reception, and also Natalie's? Michael and Hayden are high school sweethearts. They've been dating for seven years! You should have heard Hayden's sigh of relief/ burst of excitement just as the officiator was announcing them married. "Finally!" you could almost hear her say.
Below: Taking the swirl motif from the announcements to another level, we (Dad, Adam and I) projected the image onto the panels and traced them over Christmas. Michael and Hayden painted them, and added some flat back jewels. The panels made a perfect backdrop to the cake and added visual interest in the room and to the photos. (Can you imagine if there was NOTHING behind the cake?) Now the panels are living with M & H as a fun headboard.
Lovely cake. I could hardly get the cake decorator to scoot over so I could have a turn taking pictures before it was too late. She said this was the loveliest cake she's made (thanks to Hayden's direction!) . Hayden had her make the sour cream pound cake that Mom used at Natalie's and my wedding. What a fun and thoughtful way to keep a tradition! Plus, it IS a perfect recipe.
The isle led to silver painted trees with handmade jewel ornaments dangling from the branches. A unity candle table sits in the center. Later, the sweetheart table was put between the trees where the bride and groom sat for the meal and toasts etc. (Above)
This is a new tradition to me: Each mom, accompanied by Dads walked up the isle and lit one of the side candles. Then during the ceremony M & H used those candles to light the center one. I'm sure you can guess the symbolism.
To my surprise, Hayden had prepared the D.J. to play all of "our" songs at some point in the evening so we could dance with our sweeties. If you hadn't noticed by now, Hayden is extremely thoughtful.
The open house was a week later. Since the flowers didn't last, we used silver branches and jewels as centerpieces. They had a nice presence in the relief society room.
Yes. She fits right in.
