Moon Family Reunion 2023

This reunion was different. Mom Moon has developed Alzheimers (which can't be 100% proven until after a person's passing) but all the symptoms of progression are there. The family decided to change plans from a full blown reunion this year, to a mini reunion at Adam's parents' home at the end of May.

Only one family didn't attend. Some couldn't stay the entire time, but I'm grateful most were able to get together even if it was for just a moment for family pictures. They were taken just in time. It's now mid-July and Mom Moon isn't doing well. It won't be long before she leaves us. I am grateful to know that families are forever and we'll all be in the company of one another again after this life.

The House is Paid Off!

Another great title for this post would be "FREEDOM!" Dave Ramsey was right, when people get intentional, it usually takes LESS than ten years to pay of the mortgage. In our case it took seven.

We became 100% debt free today. The gratitude and optimism we feel is indescribable. I'm ready to see what we get to do next!

Let's Race

Adam took us to a local speedway where we discovered our age. The ADD in me loves speed, but I never guessed this would make us motion sick. Also, consuming dinner before a race caused a little bit of reverse peristalsis while whipping around the race track. Yum.

We raced twice and that was PLENTY. We were both nauseous when we left and had to drive carefully home on the very straight freeways of Texas. A date to remember!

Independence Day

Happy Independence Day! We did almost nothing to celebrate except spend time together. But we DID get my giant flag hung and ate red and blue for dinner (waffles with blueberries and strawberries.) I am forever grateful we get to live in this country with so many freedoms we enjoy and the ultimate sacrifices that made it so.
