Guerrilla Girls

This exhibition is from an anonymous collective, Guerrilla Girls, established in 1985. Here, at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, there are 25 copies of printed posters from Portfolio Compleat 1985–2012 with upgrade 2012–2016, (1985–2016).

I found it eye opening, a bit upsetting (naturally), and very interesting. I'm glad there were and are people who feel strongly enough about these issues to make noise about it.
Are we where we should be? Absolutely not.
Are some of these numbers skewed due to lower numbers of women who were professional artists throughout old and recent history?
Probably. But it's doesn't diminish their point in any way.
Worth a think.

In case you wanted to learn more, below is the plaque which titles all the posters that were on display.
