We spent Saturday walking up and down Main Street in Fort Worth. The annual Arts Festival was in town. Live music, food, and many many artist booths. Some of the illustrators I recognized from my magazines and awards, it was nice to see the work in person. Here are a few faves:

And It's OFF to the Races Again!

We attended a quarterly work meeting at the horse races this past Friday. Key Construction (where Adam works) reserved a suite and we got to watch the races from the tippy top of the building. Adam rooted for #3 each race. Later we went down to the track where Adam yelled, "Move yer bloomin' ahss!" (Guess the movie.)


And yes, there is a dress code: collared shirts. So some in attendance were quite dressed up, others, just a polo and jeans.

Gangsta Signs: Revealed

(Okay, okay, so I'm too "white" to be a gangster . . . but I gave it a shot.)

We had dentist appointments a couple of weeks ago. We haven't been in several years. And yup, you guessed it. Cavities. I have one and Adam three. He isn't looking forward to having his filled— they are all spread out, which means more pain and a really numb mouth.

I know, to many of you, this is no big deal but, it's new to me! I've never had a cavity and I was terrified. Mind you, I've had braces with a spring, my wisdom teeth pulled, a skin graft on my bottom gum (they took skin from the roof of my mouth), and incisions in my gums between each tooth (this severs the fibrous tissue that interlocks teeth, once severed it's supposed to help teeth stay straight) and for that procedure I had several shots, one in the roof of my mouth—which I would NEVER recommend.

So I went in shaky and nervous expecting quite a lot of pain. But it turned out to be no big deal! I didn't feel a thing, it was over in 20 minutes with topical anesthetic and one measly little shot! What hurt most was the numbness wearing off. Whew. Silly me.

We'll see how Adam feels when his are done. . . .

I secretly bought Easter candy for Adam this year. (I couldn't resist. Look how cute the chocolates are. I'm sure some of you saw them at your local WallyWorld.) And hid one of these egg shaped bowls for Adam while he was out jogging yesterday. We got up and had an Easter breakfast this morning, after which I announced I had hidden some treats for him. He took 1/2 hour to find it. I don't know who had the most fun, him searching or me watching. The other two eggs are for our good friends with whom we will be spending the rest of Easter Sunday.
