Painting Mandalas on Rocks

Dwynne planned a rock painting activity for us. But first we practiced patterns on cardboard circles.

When several were painted and we felt confident enough to move onto rocks...
...we did.

I'm sure you've seen these around by now, either on Pinterest or in person. Several booths at our local vintage and craft markets now sell hand-painted rocks like these. The activity is actually quite therapeutic so I can see why it's having its time in the lime-light.
With my rocks, I am going to paint the word #NRHrocks on the bottoms and hide them at the local park. People like to search for them and then show them off on Instagram and Facebook using the hashtag.

(Each city has its own hashtag. So if you live in in Placerville for example, you would use #placervillerocks when you post pictures of rocks you've found and you can use it as a search term to see who has found yours.)

Ice Skating

I'm not sure that you need to see any other photos except these first couple. Mo grabbed Adam and out onto the ice they ventured. So here we have two dudes, holding on to each other, unafraid of anything except slipping and crashing. Hahaha.

Mo got hang of things and smart man, he stayed close to the rail all night.
Mo, you rock!
Malaika was on fire. Around and around she went as fast as she could the entire time.
If you want a good laugh...go watch a session of ice skaters. The crashing and falling and the wobbly skaters that night were unreal. They beat a lot of YouTube videos I've seen. I didn't skate but VERY much enjoyed the show! Especially Mo and Adam. Mwah!

Ice Cream and Sleigh Pics

Below, the family was excited to try Sweet Dozen Cones in Old Folsom—especially Dwynnie.
But closed they were. Luckily, just up to the next block Snooks Candies was open (where they have better quality ice cream anyway.)

 Baby got some vicariously.
...and then we took advantage of the sleigh!

Monster Mini Golf

Mini golf is always MORE fun when everything is all glowy wouldn't you agree?
This course in Folsom (it's by the Spaghetti Factory) featured all kinds of scary creatures. A particularly gory one towered over part of the path (not pictured)...Dad reported that he overheard Malaika saying to herself "it's not real, it's not real" while looking out of the side of her eye at it.
But the girls especially liked that their dolls glowed.
Natalie wore the baby the whole time and both did fantastic.
I'm sure all the "swinging" worked out in Zania's favor.
Mom complained that I wanted to take a picture of her next to something ugly. But um...that's what the options were. Sorry Mom.
And most of us got a hole-in-one at the end. (What is it with scary clown heads? It's so cliché, can we be done with them yet?)
