Welcome...

...to our very first rental house.
A little bit about this house: It is UGLY. It is old and Provo quality. (Student housing style.) But it's dirt cheap for a 3 bed 2 bath, with garage and yard. So we aren't complaining, but we know it's totally NOT charming. In any way. Below: Living room with fire place—which will have to be scrubbed down. It's filthy. And don't get me started on the carpet. We are told it's going to be replaced. It stinks. Like dog. Bad.
The itty bitty kitchen faces the living room. There is no where to put our table. Still thinking that one through. Gotta love the tile counter top and check out that awesome carpeted bar—so stylish. The laundry closet is just to the left of the photo.
We'll probably paint an accent wall or something. It's not allowed but...who's gunna tell?
The garage...we'll probably whitewash it. There are huge holes all over in the walls too—probably just leave 'em or put things in 'em.
And the ginormous back yard. With nothing in it.

At all.
So we're throwing around some ideas for cheap shade and potted plants. In all—we're excited.

  1. Yeah! :) We are currently housing hunting in CA (Fontana area...Dan just accepted a job there!)and it made me happy to see this. Sometimes it's just not what we had in mind but we can make it work out wonderfully...and I like the reminder that we don't have to pick the most expensive spot. As always, you inspire me.

  5. Anna, you always make everything look good! And think of all the crazy parties you could have in that backyard. I'm thinking....kahlua pig....on a spit. Yum. But yeah, I will come and see what you've done with the place. One day.
