Blue and Gold Banquet

Adam had his big event this week...the Blue and Gold Banquet commemorating the birthday of Scouting. Budget: Pretty much nothing. So he got colored table cloths for the food tables and the podium table, a few streamers...

and used my casket size flag as a backdrop behind the podium. Adam also wanted centerpieces...but they never look good unless they have "presence". So we opted to fill the space above the table instead, with balloons. How are they held down? We "borrowed" some nice round rocks from the apartment's landscaping, (shhhh) wrapped them in tissue paper and tied the balloons to them. (Don't worry, we will be returning the rocks today.) It worked out well, everyone could still see the slideshow instead of having to look around a centerpiece.
Adam is relieved it is over, but said everything went well. He got lots of help from the Den Leaders and Primary Presidency. And everybody received an award—even the adults. There was plenty of food and all the kids that wanted one, went home with a balloon. Good job Scout Master!
